Cinq châteaux de guilde existent dans Ashes of Creation.[1][2] Ces châteaux seront initialement occupés par un adversaire PNJ. Ce sont les principaux antagonistes dans l'histoire.[3]

Castle regions
Les châteaux de guilde influencent une région de château autour d'eux.[4]
La région d'un château représente 1/5ème du monde du jeu.[5] Les régions d'un château, les régions économiques et les zones d'influence (ZOI) des nœuds peuvent se chevaucher.[6][7]
Les limites de la région du château ne changent pas.[6] Les châteaux de guilde peuvent imposer une taxe sur tous les revenus des nœuds situés dans leur région.[9][10]
Economic regions
Les régions économiques sont des zones statiques définies par des points d'intérêts géographiques.[12][13]
- Les régions de château sont plus grandes et englobent plusieurs autres régions économiques.[12]
- Les nœuds sont le ciment qui retient les châteaux et les régions économiques ensemble, soit dans l'harmonie ou le chaos.[14]
- Les ZI (Zones d'influence) des nœuds changent et se modifient en fonction de la progression du nœud et de ses voisins.[12]

Benefits of guild castles
Châteaux de guilde provide benefits and trophies for guilds that capture and control them.[15][16]
- These benefits increase the longer a guild holds its castle.[15]
There are levers and dials that are present to both the owners of Castles as well as the elected officials of Nodes that during their administration they have the ability to impact and influence the region around them.[17] – Steven Sharif
Guild castles exert a King or Queen's presence over nodes within their region.[15][17][18]
- Levy taxes for the purposes of defense (additional to taxes already imposed by node governments).[15][18]
- Activate events and abilities that benefit node citizens under their rule.[15][18]
- Establish special relationships with Maires to help build up the three dedicated castle nodes.[15]
- Unlock additional types of buildings in nodes.[18]
- Exert control and pressure over one of the five economic regions.[15]
Castle nodes
Châteaux de guilde have three adjacent castle nodes in close proximity.[2][21] The guild must develop those nodes to enhance the defenses of the castle.[2] It will be possible, but very difficult for a single guild to fully develop these nodes. They will likely need assistance from the broader community.[22]
- Castle nodes exist outside of the node system. They are independent of anything that's happening outside in the world with other nodes shutting off certain nodes from progressing.[21]
- Castle nodes are excluded from the normal Citoyenneté, Zones of Influence, Propriété privée, Gouvernement de Nœud, and Organisations sociales systems.[23]
- Castle nodes cannot exceed stage 3 (Village).[21]
- Castle nodes are always military node types.[2]
- Each of the dedicated castle nodes is barren at the start of the castle ownership period.[3]
- Mercenaires PNJs of different types and strengths can also be hired to participate in castle sieges and defend caravans during these events based on the allocation made by the governing castle and how successful they have been defending their castle nodes.[9][24]
Once the castle is owned by a guild that's when the supporting castle nodes start to come online and spawn each week prior to the fourth week castle siege. They'll have to form alliances, they'll have to get support, they'll have to get resources, they'll be able to allocate funds that have been collected through taxation in order to strengthen the defenses as well as hiring additional NPC mercenaries.[24] – Steven Sharif
Castle nodes are leveled through questing by the owning guild or alliance guilds.[21]
- Levelling castle nodes is a hastened process compared to regular nodes.[3]
- At the end of each week leading up to a castle siege there is a period of time in the weekend where NPC generated caravans start moving toward one of the castle nodes carrying castle taxes from the nodes that fall under the castle's purview.[15][25]
- During this time it is incumbent upon the owning guild, its allies, and citizens of the nodes to escort these caravans to the castle node.[15]
- The enemies of the guild have incentive to attack these caravans to reap the rewards from the caravan and to sabotage the tax collection, which will reduce the defensive capability of the castle nodes and hence the castle itself.[15][21]
- Citizens of nodes that fall under the purview of the castle are automatically registered as defenders of these caravans and may not participate in attacks against them.[15]
- Completing these quests unlocks services and functions that are useful to the occupying guild and its allies as well as boosting the defenses the castle.[21]
If they fail to to level up those nodes or complete those quests within the three prior weeks before the declaration week, then the castle will be at a disadvantage.[21] – Steven Sharif
Being a member of the occupying guild automatically makes you a garrison of the castle nodes and castle itself.[2]
- Only members of the occupying guild are citizens of these nodes.[26]
- This citizenship is different to normal node citizenship. Castle nodes don't operate like normal nodes.[26][23]
Développement de Nœud

Siège de Château
Les guildes peuvent participer à des sièges de châteaux dans le but de capturer et occuper l'un des cinq châteaux de guilde sur Ashes of Creation.[2] Voici quelques points à connaître sur les sièges de châteaux :
- L'objectif minimum est de faire jouer 500 joueurs (250x250) dans un seul et même champs de bataille. Avec le temps, le studio espère atteindre les 1000 joueurs (500x500) sur un seul champs de bataille.[39][40][41][42]
- Il y aura des systèmes qui imiteront certaines des mécaniques des sièges, mais il n'y aura pas de sièges d'entraînement.[43]
- Il peut y avoir des lieux instanciés au sein des sièges de châteaux et des sièges de nœuds en monde ouvert, où des groupes spécifiques peuvent participer à des batailles courtes basées sur des objectifs qui affecteront l'issue globale du siège.[44]
- J'adore les jeux basés sur des châteaux. J'aime les trophées. J'aime beaucoup récompenser le risque ; et pour moi, il est très difficile d'imaginer un MMO auquel je voudrais jouer où il n'y a pas cette compétition de prouesse stratégique qui détermine le résultat de ces types d'événements et où il n'y a pas de récompense significative, tant mécaniquement que du point de vue des droits de vantardise, que les joueurs peuvent viser et essayer d'atteindre. Je pense que cela apporte beaucoup au jeu en termes de motivations, d'excellence, de progression, de gagner en puissance, de s'engager dans ces différentes boucles de progression quand il y a un objectif ultime ou un trophée qui n'est pas statique et qui n'existe pas pour toujours une fois que vous l'avez atteint, mais que vous devez constamment performer pour le maintenir. Et c'est vraiment le but de ces châteaux.[49] – Steven Sharif
Une guilde qui capture un château l'obtient pour un mois avant qu'il ne soit assiégé à nouveau.[50][3]
- Chaque semaine menant à la semaine de siège... est une semaine dédiée à l'un des trois nœuds dédiés au château. Ainsi, autour du château, il y a trois nœuds. Ils représentent la semaine un, deux et trois ; et puis la quatrième semaine est le siège contre le château. Ceux-ci ne peuvent être élevés qu'au stade trois. - Quand les châteaux changent de guilde, (suite à un siège), une partie des taxes perçues est conservée par le château lui-même, tandis que l'autre partie revient à la guilde qui en a pris le contrôle.[51]
- Il y aura des avantages à attirer des personnes... même si elles ne sont pas dans votre guilde ou alliance – un système de type féodal, où vous pouvez attirer d'autres joueurs qui sont juste indépendants de toute cette politique. Ils auront des choses à faire là-bas - des avantages à recevoir - et il y aura une relation réciproque entre ceux que vous pouvez attirer, ce qu'ils font pour vous ; et comment cela vous profite à vous et à eux.[3] – Steven Sharif
Rois et Reines
Leaders of guilds that occupy guild castles are referred to as Rois et Reines (also referred to as Lords).[53][54]
- A King or Queen may also be elected mayor of one node.[55]
- Lords of castles and Maires unlock special high-effect abilities with long cooldowns that can be used during sieges or events.[53][56]
- Mayors and lords of castles have spells they can use on the battlefield with high effect and long cooldowns for their teams.[53]
Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castles
Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges take place on a 1km2 (one square kilometer) map.[58]
Five castles are intended for the Ashes of Creation MMORPG. It's likely that eventually there will also be five castle maps on Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges.[59]
- Initially two castle maps are planned for Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges.[60][58]
On January 11, 2019, we showcased our sneak peek of two siege map designs coming to Ashes of Creation Apocalypse soon - Castle Korgan previously owned by the Aelan humans and Castle Milnar constructed by the great Dünzenkell dwarves. These great castles of Verra were the cornerstone of defense for the Empires that owned them. Once home to legendary battles that turned the tides of power and influence on Verra. Now abandoned by the great powers that have fled Verra through the Divine Gateways, these great pillars of civilization are battlefields in the Apocalypse.[58] – Margaret Krohn
Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges
Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges are a planned Ashes of Creation Apocalypse testing mode that aims to test castle siege mechanics.[64]
- Takes place in and around large destructible castles.[65]
- Matches are expected to last thirty to thirty-five minutes. This duration can be modified by control points captured during the match.[58]
- There will be 200 players in a match (100 v 100).[66][64]
- Invite up to 20 guildmates to a match.[65]
- Class kits come into play during the testing of Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges.[67]
- The ability to host a session and challenge an opponent or guild may be present post-launch of castle siege mode.[68]
The Castle Siege mode is another example of a playable slice of the MMORPG that Apocalypse is providing early testing for. While it’s a somewhat smaller scale experience than the one you’ll have in the MMO, the overall flow of taking and defending a castle will remain similar. There’s some additional systems you’ll see in the final product, like the influence of Nodes over the available defensive emplacements, the crafting and deploying of custom siege weapons, and the summoning of siege monsters. These are all things that we’ll be adding on top of this mode upon our release of Ashes of Creation.[58] – Margaret Krohn
A potential Alpha-1 implementation of Siège de Château in the MMORPG is based on Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges.[48]
Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle siege mechanics
Ashes of Creation Apocalypse castle sieges will be objective-based.[64]
A player elects to be either an attacker or defender.[59][58]
- The matchmaker will attempt to assign a player their selected side (referred to as role in the article) but it may allocate another side so as to shorten queue times.[58]
- Once in the match, a player's side will not change.[58]
Players select one of the six classes prior to battle.[59]
- Players can see the numbers of players in their raid who have selected each class.[71]
- Players will have a limited amount of time to lock in their class choice. If they miss the window, the least selected class choice will be automatically chosen for them.[58]
- There is no limit to the number of a specific class that may be on a team, however the developers note that composition will be important from a strategic perspective.[58]
- Classes cannot be swapped during a match, but this may change based on testing.[58]
There will be a timeframe for preparation where attackers and defenders take positions and prepare weaponry.[59]
- Siege weaponry will include ballistas, trebuchets, battering rams and potentially traps and "powder keg" type weapons.[59]
When you join into the castle siege in Apocalypse you're going to be able to select one of six classes. Right and upon selecting those classes then you're going to be placed on your starting side, whether it be the attacker or defenders; and then you're going to be able to start preparations. It's gonna be a little bit of a loading time where you have selected those classes. You're going to take positions perhaps and whatnot; and there are siege weaponry that's going to be present there as you see here some ballistas, some trebuchets, a battering ram and maybe some traps and some powder keg stuff available to destroy some things.[59] – Steven Sharif
Attacking team
In the first phase of battle the attackers attempt to penetrate the walls and gates to gain access to the inside of the castle.[59][72]
- Siege weapons available to the attacking side include Trebuchets and Battering Rams.[58]
There will be a variety of siege weapons available to the Attacking side including Trebuchets and Battering Rams. Trebuchets’ range will be long enough to reach the enemy ballistas from their initial placement points. These placement points will be out of player character’s weapon range from the castle walls, but within ballista range, and scattered on the battlefield.[58] – Margaret Krohn
Once inside the castle, the attackers need to hold objectives.[59]
- There are objectives within the castle, such as killing guard captains.[64]
- Attackers must destroy key strategic objectives to swing the battle in their favor.[65]
- Defenders must protect key strategic objectives to maintain advantage.[65]
- Holding capture points increase or decrease the duration of the map, change the opposing side's respawn times and give buffs to the side that holds them.[59][64]
- Players can also respawn on capture points that they hold.[59]
The ultimate objective of the attackers is to reach the center keep of the castle to channel on the final relic that's present in order to achieve victory.[72]
Defending team
The defenders are attempting to hold out as long as possible, but they can also rush the field to the enemy encampment or headquarters to attempt to damage their ability to siege.[72]
- Attempt to take out attacker's siege weapons.[72]
- Attempt to capture attacker's control points to increase their spawn time and decrease the total match time.[72]
If a Defender captures an Attacker’s Control Point, the total match time decreases, the Attacker Teams’ respawn time increases, and it also provides a temporary morale buff to the entire Defender’s side. Defenders will also be able to teleport to any Control Points that have been taken.[58] – Margaret Krohn
Siege weapons available to the defending side include Ballistas and Traps.[58]
Ballistas will have fixed positions on castle towers. Traps will be placeable items that the Defending Team can use to damage and crowd control their enemies. Note that these items are destructible by the Attacking Team.[58] – Margaret Krohn
Respawning
Players have infinite lives in castle siege mode.[58]
- Upon death, players join a respawn queue shared with their teammates.[58]
Ecuries Royale
Ecuries Royale are a type of building in Ashes of Creation.[73]
- Castles come with a royal stables.[73]
- Maires can choose to build royal stables within their node. Once chosen, the community will need to build the stables through quests.[73]
- Royal mounts must be mounted in a royal stables in order to fly.[73]
- The royal mounts will be the only class of mounts that can fully fly in the world; and they are will be needed to be mounted while in a royal stables. Royal stables are a building that can be built in a node if elected to be built by the mayor and supported by the community building it up through the quests to do so; and castles come with a royal stable as well. So once you have a royal stable and you become that Mayor or King or Queen, you may then mount the creature there and then take it wherever you wish.[73] – Steven Sharif
Guild housing
The term "guild housing" refers to guild buildings and not guild owned player housing.[74]
Salles de guilde
Salles de guilde serve as a focal point for a guild, offering a host of benefits and customization options.[76]
- When a guild reaches a certain level, its guild master is granted a certificate to enable placement of a guild hall.[77]
- Guild halls may be placed within Baronies within the ZI of a node.[78]
- A barony can only have a single guild hall.[78]
- The number of baronies that can have an active guild hall is determined by the node's stage.[79][80]
- Only a limited subset of the guild halls available around the node are available concurrently... So you might only have two that might be available at fifth level and then three at sixth level of a node; and the guilds have an opportunity to select from the six available which three are going to be active.[79] – Steven Sharif
- Guildes mécènes may also place their guild hall within (the footprint of) their patron node. These guild halls have different perks and benefits to halls placed within Baronies.[81][77][82][81]
- Patron guild halls placed within Baronies may have the ability to confer benefits to surrounding estates within that node by speccing into passives in their guild skill tree and carrying out a lengthy quest line.[83]
- The design of guild-halls is currently subject to active iteration by the developers.[84]
- Guild halls can only be destroyed by a successful node siege. This contrasts with guild fortresses, which can be sieged in a guild war.[77][85][86]
- Guild halls are objectives in guild wars.[85]
- A guild hall only houses a single guild.[87]
Avantages

- Allow guilds to participate in the shareholder system.[88]
Forteresses de guilde
