Tumok the Wretched Alpha-2 world boss screenshot.[1]

The Cyclops, his name is Tumok; and a long time ago he is from the land of Sujoma; and that's where all the Cyclops' are from. He decided it would be a good idea to try to align himself with The Ancients that invaded Verra and he took some of his followers to fall on his footsteps; and that didn't work out so well for him. He's the last remaining Cyclops of his people. He took to try and join the Ancients and the rest of his people exiled him for that and they didn't want him back. So it's all on his own and has paid for some of those mistakes of misaligning himself.[2]Jason Neal

Tumok the Wretched is a level 30 cyclops world boss in Ashes of Creation.[5][3]

  • This boss roams the Riverlands biome and is one of the first bosses players will encounter within the game (in that area).[5][3] It has been designed to provide an introductory raiding experience, but also has some interesting mechanics.[6]
  • The encounter is aimed at 16-32 players of levels 21-39.[7][6] The size of raid required to defeat this boss will depend on player levels and how geared they are.[6][3]
We have this monstrous creature just going across our terrain. It's not going to be your flat arena that you see in every MMO. It's going to have different heights, altitudes, obstacles to climb on; and we got to solve for that. We don't want our effects just hanging in there. We want to mold to the terrain and do different stuff. So I think that's going to be something that I'm really excited about. It's really technical but it's also going to be something that people are really going to dig. They're going to enjoy it.[8]Jim Sanders
  • Tumok was once a peaceful and loving creature.[9]
Tumok wasn’t always so wretched. There was once a time when he was a peaceful and loving creature.[9]

Phase 2 mechanics

Phase 2 begins by Tumok placing his totem on the ground.[23] This may happen when Tumok reaches below 190-200k, after 2 minutes of fighting has elapsed, or 4 charges have happened.

He's put this tree down and there are going to be these healing caps that appear; and those are going to be a priority objective for DPS to take down before they grow to full size. Because, if they do, he's going to get healed for a huge percentage of his health.[24]Jason Neal
Tumok's Gaze.[25]
  • Focuses on a random target and pursues them. Stomps.
Tumok's Totem.[26]
  • Totem trunk with 80,000 Health, shoots tendrils out in 8 different paths that slow players that stand on them and deal {20} ticking damage.
Healing Caps.[26]
  • Haling caps must be taken down before they grow to full size. If fully grown, Tumok will walk to them and Stomp on them to heal for a large percentage of his health.[27]
  • Pulses AoE heal if destroyed after a certain point. Players can also take advantage of this.[24]

Phase 3 mechanics

Enrages after the Totem is broken and enters Phase 3.[28]

Tumok's Rage.[29]
  • Increases damage/speed and changes mechanics to include Enraged attacks.
Overhead Slam.[30]
  • Massive 360° AoE that deals 200 damage over a near infinite range.
  • Each subsequent cast adds an additional slam starting at 2.

Enraged Spirit Roar.[33]
  • Roars and summons a Dire Spirit Wolf to its aid. Periodically summons additional Dire Spirit Wolves over time.
